about
(voce e chitarre) e Luca Nicoli (chitarre).
vengono poi inclusi nel disco autoprodotto "I Don't Like Your Sense Of Humor (And I
Don't Get You)".
Sara, insieme a Morning Telefilm, l'alter ego solista di Emanuele Gatti dei New For Lulu.
Ultraviolet Makes Me Sick e ne esce con "Shortsighted Tree EP", pubblicato a febbraio
Aprile. Ne esce ‘I Had A Heart That Loved You So Much’, un album di dieci tracce
‘I Had A Heart That Loved You So Much’ è stato masterizzato da Roger Seibel, al Sae
Smith, Pavement, Yo La Tengo, Cat Power e molti altri.
Nel 2011 si ri-unisce alla band Simone Fratti.
‘I Had A Heart That Loved You So Much’ esce a ottobre per la Dischi Soviet Studio,
anticipato il 24 agosto dall’EP ‘The Fall & Rise Of Graeme Obree’, in versione digitale
per la 24/42.
Emily Plays is born in Pavia, Italy, in the Autumn of 2002. The band starts as
a duo with Sara Poma (vocals and guitars) and Luca Nicoli (guitars). For two
years the duo records some acustic lo-fi tracks for a self produced album called 'I
Don't Like Your Sense Of Humor (And I Don't Get You'). After a one year hiatus,
Emily Plays includes Sara Poma only. In 2006 Sara meets fellow townie Morning
Telefilm, aka Emanuele Gatti from News For Lulu. Emily Plays and Morning
Telefilm start playing live shows together along with other musicians - Simone
Fratti (double bass), Cristian Chierici (synth), Davide Impellizzeri from Ultraviolet
Makes Me Sick (drums). During the winter of 2007, Emily Plays records her own
songs at Phicophonic Studio with Gianmaria Aprile (Ultraviolet Makes Me Sick)
and her usual friends helping out. No more minimal folk. Now it's time for non-
minimal folk. The result is: "Shortsighted Tree EP", three Emily Plays songs plus
a Flaming Lips cover. Kirsten Postcards was kind enough to love those songs
and put them online.
Autumn 2008, time for another change: the band has now a brand new line-up.
This includes: Marco Albano on piano, Giacomo Tota on guitar and the usual
folk/flatmate Davide Impellizzeri on drums. Time to re-do things all over again.
After two years of playing shows together, Emily Plays finally record their new
album, ‘I Had A Heart That Loved You So Much’. Mixed by Gianmaria Aprile
and mastered in Phoenix, AZ, by Roger Seibel @ Sae Mastering, the album
is the result of a two years experience, told through the old dear suspended,
ethereal and slightly psychedelic means. Also, four tracks from the album go into
the EP ‘The Fall & Rise Of Graeme Obree’, out as a digital release on 24/42 on
August 24th.
